Creative September: Beginnings

September always feels so full of potential.

As summer ends and autumn arrives, I remember the excitement of starting a new school year. Growing up, my mom would always take me to select new school supplies, a task which would take me hours. I would wander down each aisle of the office supply store, imagining what I wanted the new year to be and what tools would help me achieve it. Planners, highlighters, color-coded binders… Each choice was a small wish for what the next season would bring. The promise of new beginnings rode in on the cool fall breezes, full of intentionality and dreaming.

Inspired by this, September's creativity theme is BEGINNINGS. All month, I will be visiting museums with this lens. I am having a lot of fun coming up with different angles: artworks as witnesses to beginnings, representations of beginnings, beginnings of artworks themselves...

What direction would you take this theme?

Mesopotamia, Musée du Louvre, Paris
Mother, Musée d'Orsay, Paris

This is the third creativity theme in this series! Previous months focused on LOVE and OUTDOORS.
